I am replacing a cable that this bad on a 1st generation iPod Nano. In case you are thinking you have a bad cable, the iPod wouldn't charge, Windows didn't know I plugged anything in and the Nano would reboot over and over. With this new cable, it works great. I figured I'd give it a try since the "official" Apple cable sucked so bad (lasted less than 7 months) I didn't care if this was an no name brand. I got mine from inspiretech and I was happy to receive an official Apple cable. I assume it is an official one anyway-- it actually has an Apple logo stamped on it. It is better build quality than the cheapo one that came with my iPhone. I would recommend this one with no reservations. The only thing missing was the fancy Apple retail box (whoopie).
