Product Description |
| Listening to your iPod on the go is even more convenient with this wired remote and high-quality earphones set. Compatible with all iPod models except iPod with video, iPod nano and iPod shuffle. The earbud-style headphones rely on Neodymium transducers, a rare earth magnet that significantly enhances frequency response and overall sound quality - in fact, five times as powerful as other headphones that use aluminum, cobalt, or ceramic drivers. The wired remote lets you fast forward, rewind, play/pause, and control the volume with four simple buttons. The Hold switch allows you to lock your iPod remote so buttons can't be pressed accidentally. Clip the remote to your lapel, shirt, or collar for easy access. |

Great remote, forget about the earphones
|
| Review Date: March 27, 2005 |
| Reviewer: Richard Aubin, Dallas, Texas USA |
I bought the remote about a year ago when I first got my mini. I primarily use my iPod when I am riding my motorcycle. I use the remote during the cooler months of riding when I am wearing a leather jacket.
The mini sits in a pocket or strapped to my arm, inside the jacket. I run the cord down my arm and clip it to the cuff of my jacket where I can control it with my hand. Although some have complained about the length of the cord, I think it is the perfect length if you want something to actually be remote - as in distant. The earphones plug into the end of the remote - I end up running the earphone cord back up my sleeve and out the neck of my jacket - it might not be a bad idea if there was also a piggyback connection where it plugs into the iPod so that you could run the earphones from either place.
There are four buttons on the remote: play/pause; skip fwd; skip rev; and, volume. The simplicity of the remote and the recognizable shapes and layout of the buttons lend it to easy, tactile operation - which is perfect when you are in a situation (like on a bike) where you can't give a lot of attention to fiddling with something. I do wish that it had some navigation capabilities from the remote, but that's a minor quibble. I have had no problems with the remote failing or having any other problems.
One reviewer wished that the remote was lit. If you have an iPod, you know that power is precious. I don't think it would be worth it to spend pod power on lighting the remote - not even a little bit - besides the buttons are sufficiently tactile that I don't think you really need to see the remote.
As for the headphones - forget them and go get something else. They don't sit on the ear very well and the sound is fair but not great. I did go through a few pairs of in-ear phones from Apple and Sony - but now have a set of Shure E2C's - which are an enormous improvement and more durable than either of the others. |
A MUST for Ipod owners!
|
| Review Date: August 12, 2005 |
| Reviewer: jo cajocin, |
| I've had this product for about a month now, and must say it makes your Ipod so much more enjoyable. First, it has a great look and clips easily to your clothing or briefcase strap. I love not to have to get my Ipod out to forward, stop, pause, etc. Just store away your Ipod and forget about it. The cord is a bit long, but can always be tucked away. Overall, I'm so happy with this accessory, a MUST for Ipod owners. |
Excellent, a must have for motorcyclists
|
| Review Date: May 23, 2005 |
| Reviewer: J. Busto, |
The iPod remote is a must have if you use your iPod while riding. One addition I strongly recommend is the Griffin Earjam Earbuds for iPod (about $7.50 a set). Not only do the earjams assure the buds will stay in your ears while riding but the sound is amazing.
The remote clips on just about anywhere you'd like. If it's cool enough for a leather coat, I clip the control onto the front of my jacket so that it's easily accessible with my left hand (right hand will be busy on the throttle). If it's too hot for a jacket, I run the cord for the earbuds under my shirt and, using the belt clip for my mini pod, I clip it on my pants and then I clip the remote onto my pants pocket, again on the left side (make sure you lock the iPod using that slide bar because even with the iPod in the locked position, the buttons on the remote will still work). After only a couple minutes of fingering the buttons on the remote, I was able to operate it effectively without having to actually look at it (a benefit being that it's a good idea to keep your eyes on the toad). Even though the remote has a locking mechanism just like the iPod (it disables the buttons so they can't be pressed accidently), I have found that it's not needed. The buttons are so stiff, they're just about impossible to press by accident.
If you often have a rider and want to share your tunes with them, invest in the Belkin splitter that allows a second set of earbuds to be used.
Don't tell anyone but Apple could easily be charging double what they are currently getting for this must have accessory. |
Better than the Original
|
| Review Date: August 17, 2005 |
| Reviewer: Osbaldo Jimenez, California, USA |
| These are as great sounding as the original stock set. However, these are BETTER as they provide awesome convenience for a cyclist and hiker like myself. The super lite weight control makes it easy for me to control my ipod/music order/volume/power without having to stop or even break stride when I'm on the go. The extra long cord is also an awesome feature. Oh yeah, they look cool and easily clip on to your shirt, pack, etc... |
Works great for me
|
| Review Date: January 17, 2005 |
| Reviewer: R L, |
For me this has been an iPod essential. I use the remote always.
The remote has been so handy. I can easily access the volume, which I'm always adjusting in seems, depending on the track playing. I can skip tracks, rewind, pause, and turn the iPod on and off.
I can have my iPod in my messenger bag and clip the remote on the strap. Or have my iPod in my jeans pocket and clip the remote to my coat. The hold switch on my iPod is on, of course, so that no buttons are accidentally pressed on the iPod itself.
I've used my current remote for over a year and have never had any problems. It still works perfectly. Then again, I take care of it. Just reasonable care that it not get crushed, wet, or broken.
The design is stunning. Simple and impressive. Looks very sleek and nice. A very attractive remote... shows the world you listen with style. |

Hardware Physicals
Aesthetically, the computer is virtually identical to the MacBook unibody ‘old’ 13. “It looks beautiful, with high quality finishes and a feeling of strength, thanks to high housing monocoque design. Has improved, at least for the model 15 that I had, the hinge of the screen and a 13″ is more difficult and not have the problems that had some models on the screen up at certain angles.
Obviously, because of the new built-in battery, no longer have the inner cover to access the battery, while removing a few screws, easy access to the guts “of the computer and we can change the RAM or hard drive easily (speaking also explained in the manual of the device and void the warranty).
Las dimensiones y me parecen muy weight cómodas para shipping (just más de 2 kilos) y además es muy fino.
The distribution of ports is equal to the previous model, with the only differences from the entrance of FW800 and the SD slot. On the right side we have the Superdrive and the left side we have the MagSafe, 2 USB, FW800, SD card reader, Ethernet and I / O (dual audio).
COMPUTER OPERATION
In this regard, I have little to comment on the computer. It works very fast and fluid. Begins in about 25 seconds and off in just over 5 seconds. The programs open fast and the few times you see the ball “of color.” With 4GB of RAM will be even better.
The operation of the computer is completely silent, even more than the model 15 that had previously. Literally, the noise is 0, as long you can hear the hard drive when you work a bit ‘more difficult.
The temperatures during normal use (JDownloader, Safari, Mail …) the temperature of the processor is between 50 and 60 degrees, and the hard drive in 32 sets, most of the time. When I use my Logitech Alto shelf, the temperature can drop a couple of degrees, but little else.
CONNECTIVITY
In the field of computer connectivity upgrade to its predecessor with the inclusion of Firewire 800 and the SD reader. Moreover, as mentioned above, includes 2 USB ports, Ethernet, Mini DisplayPort, audio in / out and Bluetooth 2.1 wireless connectivity and 802.11n wireless.
Although it is ill-served, there are users who can take more missing USB, ExpressCard slot or a video output VGA / DVI, such as the Mini DisplayPort is not widespread and that we should go and buy the cards.
For wireless connections, works perfectly.
SCREEN
The screen is one of the improvements that were introduced in MacBook Pro, 13. Continue to have 13′3-inch resolution of 1280×800 pixels and LED backlight, but the display quality improved enough to the previous model. Has a better brightness, better color definition viewing angles and better with much less yellowing when viewed sideways. I can not say much more about this subject, and I could not make a good picture of the screen, since I do not have the camera at home.
With regards reflexes, such as glass remains the same and yes, they are reflected, but not much more than any other computer display brighter. Yes, I would rather kill or make anti-reflective treatment, but it seems not to be a problem so exaggerated.
Keyboard and Touchpad
The MacBook Pro equips the new Apple keyboard popular, the same style as the rest of the range Apple, with separate buttons. I have already enjoyed in my previous MacBook Air and Pro and it seems a fantastic keyboard. The keys are the size (in the model of 13 “I think they are a bit ’smaller than IT 15″) and the ideal separation, and is very convenient to work on it. The touch is also good. E ‘in the light, which for me is a great advantage. When you have this option, you think it’s silly, but lacked the computer that I had after the air.
The touchpad is the same as in the previous generation of MacBook. N. buttons, features multitouch technology, is made of glass and is enormous. And ‘the best I’ve ever tasted touchpad, the touch is exquisite, perfectly responds to both clicks and gestures and that the size is convenient. In fact, words can not express how well they work and how wonderful it is better to try. It’s perfect.
OPERATING SYSTEM
For those who are not in a good position in Apple computers, said as usual, the MacBook Pro (and other Apple computers) with the latest version of the system, called Leopard 10.5.
This is a very user friendly system, which usually is a golden opportunity quickly very stable and does not need anti-virus, because the threats are more focused on Windows. More software for Mac (quality), and all that is used in Windows, or is it the same version of the program for the Mac, or if there is another who does the same thing (The only exception is Autocad, which is comparable, but I think people interested in that particular). Furthermore, we are able to install Windows natively with Boot Camp or virtualization software or Parralles VM.
As my computer was purchased after June 8, have the right to purchase the new version of the system of 8′95 million (€ 29 ones with Leopard pre-June 8.) This new version of the operating system is more focused on improving the performance of the team that provide important new interface and new features.
BATTERY
Another important development of the new MacBook Pro is the battery. It is now integrated in the computer has a new design that makes better use and forms of cargo and last longer (up to 1000 according to Apple). Autonomy, according to Apple, which increases up to 7 hours.
The 7 hours is not the conditions, but has great autonomy. With the screen with a high level of brightness, Wifi, keyboard and mouse connected by BT and surf the Internet, takes about 5 ½ hours, an amount that seems very good autonomy, more than twice as long is the Dell XPS 13 ” we have is more like the MacBook Pro 13 that we have.
The burden is also quite fast, just under 2 hours is rather flat. In conclusion, improved battery life seems pretty great.
CONCLUSIONS
I think a fantastic key factors are good size and weight, high quality finish and solid feel, good screen, great battery, keyboard and touchpad are fantastic and even the price (€ 1010) seems consistent with what you buy. Also, finally, includes FW800.
Some decisions you can make the team, maybe the Mini DisplayPort is a damn USB and some more.
I highly recommend. I think it is an ideal.
Pros:
- Design and finishes
- Screen
- Battery
- Keyboard and Touchpad
- Card reader FW800 and (finally)
- Very quiet
CONS:
- Too few USB port .
- Mini DisplayPort underused.

This Apple Macbook PRO MB133 series comes with Mac OS X 10.4 “Leopard”, which gives more than 1000 times more performance than Windows XP and Windows Vista, it works fine with 1GB of RAM and can do incredible things, here’s a little list I know what it can do.
- Spotlight: is an integrated search engine on the top bar of the screen by which we can make real-time search throughout the system and setup on the Internet.
- Dock: the toolbar at the bottom (though usually is placed to the left or right), where are the links to all the programs you want and programs that are opened today.
- Finder: what would be known as the Windows Start menu, found the default drive disk and a folder where all the programs, another for audio, another video, another image, desktop, and one that would be like my documents in Windows. It is called home or your username in Mac.
- Dashboard: a sort of floating window that appears when you press the F12 key or if you set them by clicking on a corner of the screen. E ‘can install widgets are small applications with specific functions, you can take from one computer to a program for sending SMS, through the time of your city, mini-games, search engines, television programming, the state the bag, rss, news, results, football, basketball, and etc…
- Desktop: Desktop Life exposes feature that allows you to tackle the corners of your desktop running a variety of functions like displaying all open windows, load the dashboard display the desktop, or consolidate all open windows tiled floor (incredibly useful for a change request to another immediately)
- Frontrow: This is a menu that is loaded by pressing the menu button on the remote control of Apple (Apple Remote) and loaded with 4 icons (pictures, DVDs, music and video) and everything is handled from a control. So you can find a song in your iTunes library to see a trailer for Internet or DVD.
- System Preferences: what is known in the Windows control panel is located on the top bar on Apple> System Preferences
- Bootcamp: An application that installs on your hard drive to multiple operating systems, in addition to Mac from Windows (XP, Vista) to almost any version of Linux
Apple Macbook Pro MB133 is considered one of the best laptop from Apple Computer I have tried. I would highly recommend it to everyone. One of the best deal on the internet is found on Amazon.com. Highly recommended!
